A more deeply pitched nose combines notes of dark berries with those of floral

leather and tar flavors grace the palate

followed by intense layers of fruit that totally saturate the palate

This should repay a few years of keeping as it will need time to unwind

around a third less than in an average vintage

The Hilt, Old Guard Chardonnay Vintage:2010 A more deeply pitched nose(55% fruit from Sanford & Benedict vineyard and 45% from Solomon Hills vineyard), Pale gold. Musky, heady aromas of yellow plum, poached pear, lemon pith and iodine. Pliant and creamy in texture, with a restrained sweetness to its deep orchard and citrus fruit flavors.
