and terrific hand-carved decoration all over

and quite an old one too

was done by the same student

Antique Tintype of Handsome Painter (?) in Overalls with Etched Order On Reverse printmaking detailed on the inside ofI've been trying to figure out what the text scratched into the back of this tintype might indicate but don't have an answer. It looks like an occupational photo of sorts to me, with this handsome man in bowler and paint spattered overalls suggesting perhaps a painter to me or maybe the "bust" described on the back of the tintype refers to a sculpture, and our man works in plaster. Certainly it seems like a job that is being described "Order #240"
