The eldest son of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), Prince Albert Victor's life has been wrapped in secrecy and scandal. He is thought to have visited a male brothel, to have fathered an illegitimate child by a married woman, and was for a time rumoured to have been Jack the Ripper.
