Beautifully Crafted Antique Carved Wood and Woven Ash Splint Chair carved saint This brass letter opener wouldOne sees doll chairs and benches in this manner around these parts from time to time usually referred to as Adirondack but I don't think I've ever seen one as lovely as perfectly aged as this one, which feels like pure sculpture to me. Late ish 19th century I believe, the frame of the chair was carved in pieces with tiny nails used to secure them where the pieces meet, with bent twigs for the sides and woven ash splint I believe for the back and seat.
