And then also a terrific tension between the intense smoke and the two bushes or trees on the horizon to its left

This one I am pretty sure is meant to be a penguin

The paper tag pinned to her dress is partially torn, but certainly read First Communion, and perhaps _ in Venezia (Venice) after that? So perhaps she was made as a souvenir doll, and an incredibly constructed one in any case, with carefully cut paper for her hands, one of which wraps around a fabric candle,
