This gorgeous wooden barrel shaped string holder I believe dates to mid 19th century New England

which is fun but also a lot of scrolling through a lot that are not at all interesting

Large cards measure 2 7/8" x 2"

but everywhere I go-physically and virtually--I find myself picking up wooden puzzles

They came nicely preserved inside a large piece of paper with folded edges, with "Specimens of Sea Weeds for Mrs. Bindle" hand written on the front.
